The house was finally “liveable” and we decided – what the heck, let’s just go, cancel the removal van! So we put all our belongings into boxes and moved to our new home! It was a whole day exercise and when we finally had all the beds made, the carpet guys had left and we could finally “move in” it was 18h00! The kids were exhausted and when we said to them “kom ons gaan bad” they both ran to the Adriaan’s bakkie and said “Bakkie ry”... (they love riding on the back of the bakkie to the gate). Angela became more and more upset and couldn’t understand that we were not leaving, the more we walked into the house the more she wanted to “bakkie ry”. Anyway after a while she saw nobody was leaving her behind and we were all staying. We poured their bath water they got in, had an absolute rave in their new bath and slept like angels the whole night! They have not looked back and now when it’s time to bath – they don’t run for the bakkie! It’s a small moment but the innocence of the child was memorable! Not wanting to be left behind, wanting a bed in a room with her stuff along with mom, dad and sister... the size/location of the house didn’t matter, it’s the love and companionship she sought – that was memorable! ~ Naude family
